Little Island

"A strong identity which expresses our independent spirit."

Children's Laureate. Dublin. Waves.

We now have a strong identity which expresses our independent spirit.

Matthew Parkinson-Bennett

CEO, Little Island

Little Island was founded by Siobhán Parkinson, Ireland’s first Children’s Laureate. A shining light in Irish publishing, the press is committed to great writing and not afraid to take risks. Champions of quality books for young readers, they are leaders in children’s publishing in Ireland and beyond.

DC&CO worked with renowned business writer John Simmons to create the brand positioning and the line ‘Books create waves’. We then sensitively nudged the identity to appeal to young adults as well as younger children, and to work better across social media, events and book covers. A clear set of guidelines gives the publisher a timeless brand built to last.

As CEO Matthew Parkinson-Bennett puts it: “It is often said that books don’t change the world, but we believe they can change lives. ‘Books create waves’ expresses our commitment to publishing books that make an impact on readers and their worlds, and stir the sea within.”
