Problems we solve

Our brand is not some fluffy thing. It's a hard-edged business decision about the kind of firm we want to be, the kind of clients we want and why they should use us rather than anybody else

Most people don’t call a brand consultancy asking for “brand strategy”. They call because something’s happened. A merger. A product name that no longer fits. A website that still describes the company you were three years ago, not the one you’ve become. Here’s the work we’re known for, sorted by the situation that brings people to us. Find yours, and see how we’ve handled it before.

Your website no longer reflects the business

It still explains the company you were three years ago. Your positioning’s moved on and the site hasn’t kept up. We fix the positioning before the design: what you stand for now, why people should care, then build a site that shows it. When we rebranded Hunters and crafted their site, website enquiries rose 224% in 6 months.

Your brand has outgrown your strategy

You’ve grown, added services, moved into new markets, and your brand hasn’t caught up. A strategic brand initiative sets the positioning before anyone touches the design. Kennedys wanted to expand into new markets and territories. The strategy and identity we built became the springboard: turnover is up 970% since, and the firm now has 47 offices worldwide.

You’ve acquired or merged with another company

Two names, two sets of loyal customers, and a decision about what to keep. We help you decide what stays, what goes, and how to explain the change to the people who matter. After AIS and FPDC merged, we crafted FIS: one clear brand, easy to say and easy to trust.

You need to rename a product, or the whole firm

A strategic shift, a new market, a trademark problem, or a name that’s simply stopped fitting. Naming looks simple until you’ve done it. For AMT-Sybex, we turned technical acronyms into names people could actually picture: Data Transfer Solutions became MarketFlow, Field Data Capture Solutions became FieldReach. AMT-Sybex sold for €100m in 2014.

You need a tone of voice everyone can use

Your emails, your website and your tenders all sound like different companies. Tone of voice fixes that: one voice, written down, that anyone can pick up. We run workshops to get everyone teams there, and use before and after examples to make it stick.

Tone of voice

Your brand looks dated, or nothing matches

The logo’s tired, the sub-brands have multiplied, and nothing quite fits together. A brand identity gives you one coherent system that works everywhere and still makes sense in ten years. We rebuilt The Story Museum’s identity from the ground up, and its income has passed a million pounds since, up from £350,000.

You’re not sure a rebrand will actually make a difference

It’s easy to assume branding is surface-level, a new logo and nothing more. McBains’ CEO expected exactly that, until the work uncovered what genuinely made the firm different. The board backed the boldest of three routes, and turnover grew 81% in five years, from £15.5m to £28m.

We get called when

  • your website no longer reflects the business
  • your brand has outgrown your strategy
  • you’ve acquired a company and need to decide what to keep
  • you’re renaming a product, a service or the whole firm
  • your people all describe the company differently
  • you need a tone of voice everyone can actually use
  • you’re not convinced a rebrand will actually change anything
  • you’re moving into a sector where nobody knows you yet

If one of those sounds like your week, tell us what’s happened. We’ll reply with how we’d approach it, not a sales call.

We craft. It lasts. You shine. From day one. For decades.

How's your brand?
